My days are at minimum 12.5 hours. My breakfasts are almonds I throw in my mouth as I’m pacing the hall. My lunch comes at 4pm. My patients are sick and their families anxious and frustrated. I am mentally and physically fatigued. Not to mention I face the biggest learning curve of my entire life.
Yet at the end of my day I’m so happy with what I’m doing and so proud to call myself a nurse. It’s the quiet thank yous, big smiles, and the hugs that make it all so very worth every minute. Much love to all the nurses out there, you rock!
